Every year since 2016, IKEA has fulfilled one of the greatest wishes of children around the world: to turn a drawing into a soft toy. The initiative is called “Soft Toy Drawing“, it was created to support charities that promote the right to play for children and calls to action the children around the world.
Just today, IKEA announced the five winners of the competition opened at the end of 2020: Audrey, Liepa, Zosia, Nick and Savva are the undisputed owners of the creative idea.

Sandwich Friends
The five young designers selected this year were chosen from over 66,000 applicants.
Their designs met IKEA’s criteria for imagination, uniqueness and originality and will soon become real plush toys, featured in the Sagoskatt line, sold under the Swedish brand’s signature.

They are the winners of the competition, the authors of the Sandwich Friends, Cat, Fried Egg, Bird and Mermaid Dog soft toys that will join the collections from previous years.

The toys from the “Soft Toy Drawing” competition will be part of a limited edition and will be available for purchase on the website and in official stores from autumn 2021.
