During the night, for a few hours, the world around us is covered by a sense of mystery. Sometimes it seems almost impossible to keep an eye on what is in front of our eyes, but darkness still manages to show us glimpses that feed our imagination.

And it’s in the English capital that the imagination and voyeurism of photographer Edo Zollo come into play in the series “In the Dark Of The Night.” Here, cinematographic photograms of nightlife can find the extraordinary in the ordinary in a mysterious mega-city like London. The neon lights of the signs, the trembling of a lonely bulb or the reflection of a street lamp create scenes underneath the surface that suddenly go back to life allowing you to contemplate the beauty of a moment.

“As my work has developed, I have become more interested in using photography to examine people’s perceptions of life, people and events around us. A photograph can be a powerful way to break down prejudices and change points of view.”
