British artist Jason deCaires Taylor has created an underwater ecomuseum off the coast of Cannes by creating six enormous sculptures inspired by the faces of some of the city’s residents and placing them on the sandy seabed near the island of Sainte-Marguerite.
Art meets science, with the sole objective of defending the environment. Jason deCaires Taylor is no stranger to similar initiatives, his sculptures will act as catalysts for algae and fish, designed to safeguard the balance of marine flora and fauna.

What an incredible space, the immense blue and the hypnotic movement of the posidonia sea grass meadows create a dreamlike experience that is hard to describe.
They are located about two meters away from each other, obviously made of environmentally friendly concrete so as not to affect the underwater environment that is already at risk on the environmental front.

A project that started in 2017 and ended only in early 2021, which required a lot of hard work. The result is stunning, an underwater museum certainly a bit difficult to reach, but stunning to see.
