Waclaw Wantuch – Beauty as an objective fact

It often happens that nude photography aims to tell interior and individual stories, thanks to the privileged point of view of the lens, which manages to enter an intimate and delicate space. The shots of female nudes by Polish photographer Waclaw Wantuch are not subjective stories, nor are they abstract stories that utilize the body as an instrument to aim at isolating the human being. Wantuch’s is a search for definition, the woman’s body is understood as a form, looking for the geometric aspects of the curvature of the hips and breasts.

The deformation of the body, determined by the unusual point of view adopted in many shots, creates geometric lines far from a harmonious definition of the body, but highlights its fullness and eroticism.

The absence of color in the shots helps to keep the nuances of the skin and its warmth from interfering with the search for objectivity in the beauty of the body. Only light helps to highlight the volumes and folds of the body.
Poetry is reduced to a detail in Waclaw Wantuch’s photos, so much so that a certain rigidity emerges, which removes the idea of skin as velvet and the body as a warm and welcoming place, in which untold stories can be discovered.
