Every time we think about the past, we focus on the positive aspects, on values, on food, on music, on art, without thinking about the negative sides. One of these, a subtle thread between us and all that has happened before, is the war. The subject of Danny Sangra‘s short film entitled WAR is precisely the habit humans have developed towards war and sometimes, armed conflicts are so much a part of our lives that someone can forget why they are fighting.
In a completely surreal way, World War II soldier Malcolm Bailey and Napoleonic War lieutenant James Cornflake meet in a forest. Both are lost and both are looking for a war to fight.
Danny Sangra is a director and writer, illustrator and photographer. His multimedia products deal with current themes with irony and unexpectedly and originally. He teases the world of adults, made up of rules, social guides, but also of inconsistencies. The final objective of his works, however, remains the same, making the days of his fans less boring.
