Barcelona-based photographer Clemente Vergara takes travel photographs on analog film that highlight the architecture through plays of light, shadow and geometry. In fact, the artist explains that:
“Taking pictures means communicating myself, offering a vision of what I think is harmonious and beautiful”.
His imagery has developed taking into account various elements, within his body of work we find images that portray the anonymous architecture of the villages of the Moroccan Atlantic coast and small temples in northern India, but also the iconic residential complex in the Gallaratese district of Milan: there are no hierarchies.
However, not all places have to be special, distinct:
“What I like best is when I shoot a modest
building, or architectural details that would have been overlooked, but I managed to extract something that deserves to be observed. It would be something I try to communicate; any kind of architecture can be beautiful if you look at it with a different eye”.
In the series of images we propose, we find a real triumph of geometries that capture and encourage contemplation. Follow the artist on his Instagram profile, which you can find
