JR Eisma turns your homes into illustrations

Have you ever imagined your life as a comic book? What would your home and loved ones look like if you lived inside a cartoon or anime? Artist JR Eisma started with this idea when he made his first commissioned illustration for a couple just over a year ago.
Since then, JR Eisma has enjoyed well-deserved success – his Instagram profile now has almost 150,000 followers – and many more commissions.

With a recognisable, hyper-detailed style, JR Eisma transforms houses, but also individual rooms, or photographs into hyper-detailed illustrations. His creative process directly involves the clients who are asked to provide photographic material from which he takes inspiration and begins to create.

Starting with an initial sketch showing the space and the general arrangement of the furniture, JR Eisma goes on to do all the line art, during which he adds all the details. In the end, it is these details that make the illustration personal and tailored to the customer.

Last but not least, he adds colour, through which the image seems to come to life and the initial sketches become cosy places where the tenants live peacefully and the furniture tells their story.

But JR Eisma’s art doesn’t end there. The illustrator currently has several Instagram profiles, each dedicated to a different style he likes to experiment with. We invite you to follow him and discover his art at 360°.
