Time goes by and the world inevitably changes. Each new generation brings with it different traditions, rhythms, habits and vices, there are always some voices out of tune, but we must remember that the exception confirms the rule.
Ignoring change is wrong, on the other hand watching it closely can be a useful and constructive exercise. This is exactly what Laura Lobos does with photography.
Laura Lobos, a freelance photographer based in Barcelona, uses her art to tell the world from a different perspective. Her aim is to describe the everyday life and the interpersonal relationships of the women of the new generation.
“My work talks about the girls of the new generation. I’m interested in the relationship that they have with social media, sexuality and femininity. I think that they are creating a new way of communication with the world, especially through the Internet. They don’t write love letters, they practice sexting and send nudes. Their hidden vulnerability makes me want to photograph them.”
