Marine Fried is a very young photographer who uses analog photography, and in Like Sisters, Like Home she recounts a day spent with Gladys, a friend, in a country house near Dieppe, last June, in France. The photographic atmosphere of this project suggests an implied sisterhood to the viewer, something deep that remains steadfast between the two women. «Even though I’m an only child, spending the weekend with Gladys made me feel as if I were spending time with my sister in our family home» says Fried.

«Our closeness allowed me to get to know her better. We talked a lot, set boundaries, took baths, laughed, slept close to each other, watched donkeys, and spent some time outdoors. For me, this is a very representative image of a mix of intimacy with nature, both real and imagined» explains Marine Fried, speaking about the project.

Hers is an intimate project, one we feel close to, and with its analog suggestions, it adds value to Fried’s mission, which aims to de-sexualize female bodies. «My intention is to document life, both small everyday moments and great milestones, through the lens of our shared sisterhood. I seek to capture the poetic nature of life; together we discover our natural beauty, strength, and grace» concludes the photographer, speaking about her approach to photography.
