What could be more poetic than the everyday? Nick Prideaux, an Australian photographer now living in Paris, knows it well. His shots become a visual poem of simplicity and pastel colours. In fact, he calls himself ‘the author of a visual diary’ when he published his first book 008 with Setanta Books in 2021. Undoubtedly, this publication marks a kind of turning point in his work, arriving at a theoretical definition of his research, based on the desire to share the magic of the everyday. His photographs often have simple subjects, details and beauties that may go unnoticed, but which here, in his work, are enhanced to the point of becoming delicate protagonists. A glimpse of the horizon, a bare back, a bitten peach, colourful flowers. An imagery that takes us back to the so-called slow life and even more to our Italian summer, which, again this year, we are looking forward to.

Who is Nick Prideaux?

Nick Prideaux has extensive international experience, having travelled to major cities such as Melbourne, Beijing, Tokyo and Southeast Asia, Prideaux’s work has appeared in major publications such as Marie Claire, Monocle, Vanity Fair, Vogue Germany and Fisheye Magazine. His photographs have been exhibited all over the world, including London, Los Angeles, Melbourne, Montreal, Tokyo and Bangkok. Prideaux exclusively uses 35mm film, a choice that reflects his commitment to authenticity and to capturing the present moment without retouching.
