After “Il Collezionista di Venti“, Edoardo Tresoldi returns to Calabria with a new permanent public art installation on the Falcomatà waterfront in Reggio Calabria.

Opera, promoted and commissioned by the local Municipality and the Metropolitan City, wants to celebrate the contemplative relationship between the place and the human being through the classical architectural language and the transparency of the Absent Matter, expressed through the wire mesh.
The installation, a crossable monument completely usable by the citizens, is composed of a colonnade of 46 pillars peaking at8meters at their highest point that give life to an imaginary space able to transport visitors in a changing perceptive dimension, thanks also to the games of height and depth that are created with the surrounding space.
Opera was created to emphasize the character of place through the built element, thus suggestingan additional layer of understanding. I tried to build a place of contemplation and to investigate the role of public art today, which I believe should be able to embrace the present. -Edoardo Tresoldi said commenting on his work.
The installation, which began in early July, was inaugurated in September 2020 and has become part of one of the largest public spaces in Europe.
