The desert oddities in the shots by Vaughn Meadows

The desert is not just an endless expanse of sand, and Vaughn Meadows.
Born in 1998, Vaughn Meadows is a young photographer born in Fairfax, in the state of Virginia, but his passion for more desolate landscapes and scenarios has led him to explore the length and breadth of the southwestern United States, stopping a few hundred kilometers before the California coast.

It was here, on the border between California and Arizona, that the photographic series entitled Desert Oddities was born. As the title suggests, Vaughn Meadows’ eye lingers on all the oddities that can be found in a desert landscape.

Forgotten art installations, abandoned buildings, mysterious bodies of water. The subjects of the photographs bear witness to the presence of man in this area, a past presence that is now gone.

This state of decay creates a contrast with the warm and almost pastel colors of the shots, which make everything more dreamlike and magical.

We have selected only a few shots from the Desert Oddities series, but follow Vaughn Meadows on Instagram to not miss all his works and visit his shop on OpenSea to buy one of his shots in NFT.
